Should I cancel my Thailand Trip?
love911 asked:
Ok, I’ve been searching on the net about Myanmar. I know there are horrible things happening over there. I am travelling to Thailand on Nov 30 and will be there till Dec. 21. I was wondering how this will affect my trip? Will it still be safe to go? Where exactly is Myanmar, and what locations are being affected by this horrible matter??

I would love to be able to go to Thailand ,but I know what you mean ,a would also like to go to Ireland and the Holy land ,but with hearing of all the violence it makes one fear going to such countries .
you are okay Myanmar is the name for Burma so you will be thoudand miles away in Thailand from the centre of the trouble. You will have a great time in Thailand and should not worry. Baw pen Nyang …No problem !!!!
Dont worry I`m going in Oct with 5 friends , going to have a ball!!!!
What Myanmar got to with Thailand? Carry on and enjoy your trip in Thailand.
hey, come on myanmar is not a city in thailand.
it is totally differences country.
why would you worry?
No offense intended, but this is another of of those questions which show people’s mentality about Asian that if anything is happening there - the whole continent is unsafe.
It is like saying “I am going from Australia to The USA, but I heard that Mexico has martial law - is USA safe?” or “I heard that Phuket was hit by the Tsunami, is it still safe to go to Chiangmai?”
Please - know your geography.
Myanmar is another country. Why should it affect your trip to Thailand.
Go to Thailand! Enjoy your trip.
Myanmar/Burma is a country next to Thailand. You shouldn’t cancel your trip because of what is happening there - it wont affect Thailand. They are two separate countries.

Add: You’ve probably been watching the news, and have seen journalists in Thailand reporting on Burma - that is because they are BANNED from entering Burma/Myanmar at the moment, so report from neighbouring countries instead.
